The Story
The Peerless P17 Diesel with Retro Kit is built to the MDG15 standard developed for the mining industry. This OH&S compliant diesel unit is fitted with a 2.5 metre remote start box, a kill button and an isolator switch, with all gauges, air outlets and drains grouped at one end to make it easy for the operator. It shares the Peerless floating top plate design, which is not hard welded to the tank and helps absorb vibration from the engine and pump while reducing stress on the air receiver.
It is driven by a Yanmar L48 key start diesel engine with a Conrader idle control valve that throttles up and down with air demand, and delivers 350 litres per minute of free air delivery on a 68 litre tank. Every Peerless diesel build comes with a suitable water trap filter regulator fitted for 0 to 145PSI or 0 to 175PSI operation, and each machine is run and tested before delivery. The electric start engine does not come with a battery. Custom builds, including a lift pump fuel feed and wiring loom extensions, are available.
